Panasonic is a market leader in in-flight entertainment systems and globally connected aircraft services. As part of the end-to-end solution, our team is responsible for enabling the growth and flexibility of the satellite-to-ground network that supports the full spectrum of IP-based services on board an aircraft. Whether passengers are watching live TV, enjoying new-release movies, making phone calls, or browsing the internet at feet, Panasonic provides the solution - our team plays a key role in engineering it.In my role, I led the end-to-end design and architecture of the IP Traffic Management Platform. Our objective was to centralize access control, traffic management, quota enforcement, and usage-record generation into a single global platform. This enabled capabilities such as mobile network operator integrations, improved revenue recognition, and automated billing workflows.The position was highly technical and required full lifecycle ownership: from proof-of-concept and development to delivery of both the platform and its supporting systems. Key contributions include-Implemented a Nagios-based NMS, translating platform SNMP traps (AlarmsMIB) into PagerDuty alerts and monitoring vendor-specific SNMP tables-Integrated vendor platforms with the IPAM system to streamline configuration and network asset management-Performed benchmarking, testing, and validation of virtualized network functions using the Ixia platform under multiple configurations (e.g, DPDK NIC passthrough, SR-IOV, VMware vSwitch)-Developed CI scripts to validate both Nagios and vendor configuration for improved reliability and repeatability-Led architectural discussions on global access control, quota management, and related core components of the service-Authored a Golang service that translated over 100 million MQTT messages into policy-engine events with 100% uptime, providing real-time visibility into network conditions and connected devices.
