Based at the American Heart Association’s National Center, I serve as a Science & Health Advisor within the Emergency Cardiovascular Care (ECC) department. In this role, I provide scientific and community health expertise to help shape and transform AHA products, programs, and tools that advance education and training in emergency cardiovascular care.I work closely with global science volunteers and consultants through the AHA and the International Liaison Committee on Resuscitation (ILCOR) on activities such as systematic reviews, guideline development, treatment recommendations, and the exploration of new areas of resuscitation science.Our team leads the integration of clinical guideline science into educational products for both healthcare professionals and lay responders. This includes developing evidence-based training across disciplines such as Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Life Support (ALS), Pediatric & Neonatal Life Support (PLS/NLS), First Aid, and Community/Lay Rescuer education.This work involves translating resuscitation science into practical learning tools, such as instructor manuals, student workbooks, video content, and eLearning platforms. We also oversee scientific publishing efforts, including management of the international ILCOR CoSTR (Consensus on Science with Treatment Recommendations) process and contributions to the 2025 AHA Guidelines, in collaboration with more than 300 clinical and scientific volunteers worldwide.
