ABOUT JAYLA JOHNSON

I am a proud biracial woman and recent film school graduate. Film and television has been an incredible part of my life ever since the joys of smelling the fresh plastic case of a brand new VHS movie. Stories within the world of cinema are a major influence on cultural and personal aspects of life, not only having the ability to entertain me for 100 minutes but also influencing each viewer physically and psychologically. It is for this reason that I have chosen the path of filmmaking and creating these impacts on viewers all over the world. As long as I can remember all I\'ve ever wanted was to work in the film industry and learn as much as I can about filmmaking in order to do so. It was this motivation, developed professionalism, and determination that led me to earn an Associate’s degree just months before my high school graduation. Through this experience I was able to identify and build productive relationships, resolve production issues, write screenplays, and contribute to and produce short film projects. I aspire is to work in the film and television industry as a producer who can turn intricate words on the page into a reality for all to enjoy on the big screen. With a diverse cultural background and a yearning passion for the filmmaking process, I aim to creatively work with other filmmakers and utilize business tactics to produce original and captivating stories for the screen.
