About Jayesh Pethkar

Jayesh is an engineer currently pursuing his MBA at Indian Institute of Management (IIM), Mumbai. His journey from being a mechanical engineer to working as a software developer to pursuing an MBA clearly points out his passion for learning new things and taking up new challenges. As a part of the curriculum in mechanical engineering, Jayesh has completed an internship in the Quality Management Department at KSB Pumps and Valves Ltd. and has also worked on a project where he was successful in making combustion systems more sustainable by oxygen enrichment of the combustion chambers using hydrolysis.Post engineering, Jayesh worked at Capgemini for 9 months and was consulted by a reputed German automobile company for developing digital solutions to make its manufacturing plants more efficient and collaborative. Jayesh spearheaded two project sprints as the scrum master where his team was able to develop an online home decor store website as a part of their training. In efforts towards partial fulfillment of his post graduate diploma in Industrial Management, Jayesh has worked as an operations intern in the JioMart B2B FC Operations team at Reliance Retail, Reliance Industries Limited. He successfully developed a robust activity based costing model to be implemented in JioMart\'s fulfillment centres. The model was able to calculate and assign labour, equipment, utility, technology and other costs for every SKU at a granular level, depending upon its flow path and type in the warehouse. The model helped the organization improve its cost visibility thus enabling improvement in its pricing and product mix while also identifying inefficient activities. Jayesh is a cricket enthusiast. He also loves to read, write and exercise. Travelling to new places, often solo is what Jayesh always seeks an opportunity for.
