ABOUT JAY COCKBURN
I tell stories about cities and the people in them, often in audio. I also report on Canadian politics for international news outlets. I\'m a narrative-forward storyteller who likes to focus on the humans at the heart of any story. I began my career at the BBC in the UK but these days I produce podcasts in Toronto. I\'ve reported and produced for 99% Invisible, The Globe and Mail, Canada\'s National Observer, the Toronto Star, and The Local. I\'ve also engineered live broadcasts and concerts for the BBC, I can work in Adobe Audition, Pro-Tools, Reaper or pretty much any DAW you throw at me. I consider sound design an integral part of audio storytelling and love to craft a narrative using music. I\'m both an audio producer and an investigative reporter, which means that I\'ve worked as a field producer on high impact journalism for outlets like The Times and Spotify/Gimlet.
