About Jay Jaycee Babbs
I am a sustainability historian, informal educator, and coalition operator-strategist focused on creating experiences that reveal the interdependencies between history and ecology. My work integrates professional writing, interpersonal communication, interdisciplinary thinking, and advocacy to foster intergenerational learning and sustainable practices, with an emphasis on equity and accessibility for underserved communities.I am certified as an Outdoor STEM Educator (UBC), Climate and Environmental Educator (IDB), and Climate Communicator (Smithsonian), and Building Analyst Technician (BPI) with 16+ CE hours from the U.S. Green Building Council in power resilience, biophilic design, and sustainable building.Currently pursuing a B.A. in Human Ecology at the College of the Atlantic (Class of 2029), I concentrate in sustainability education and agricultural/environmental policy. My long-term aim is to design and lead place-based, farm-based, and nature-based programs that expand sustainability literacy, strengthen climate resilience, and center historically marginalized communities in environmental leadership.
