ABOUT JAYASHREE KUMAR
I\'m a Ph.D-trained computational biologist with over 10 years of experience in computational biology, including 8+ years specializing in RNA biology and next-generation sequencing (NGS). My background spans both academia and industry, with deep expertise in analyzing high-throughput sequencing data, modeling RNA structure-function relationships, and collaborating cross-functionally with experimental teams.During my Ph.D. at UNC Chapel Hill (2016–2022), I developed predictive models for alternative splicing and novel methods to visualize RNA structure changes using SHAPE-MaP data. Since 2022, I\'ve worked in the biotech industry, where I\'ve led data science and pipeline development efforts, built ML tools for RNA sequence interpretation, and deployed cloud-based applications to streamline analysis across multiple teams. With prior experience as a software engineer and a strong command of Python, R, and AWS, I enjoy building tools and models that turn biological complexity into actionable insights. I’m passionate about RNA biology, data-driven discovery, and bridging the gap between computational and experimental science.
