About Jayaram Krishna
I started my career as a data/quality analyst at a company in California. After the brief stint as a data/quality analyst, where I was introduced to the world of Big Data and Data Analytics, I had the fortune to switch my career to manufacturing, which was always my area of interest and passion. During the second innings of my career, I started by working as an Industrial Engineer at Getman Corporation where I was part of a team instrumental in the development of production standards for its products. I was one of the founding members of the newly formed Continuous Improvement Team responsible for introducing and applying lean principle to manufacturing. During this phase, I was involved in numerous process improvement initiatives aimed at improving the flow of parts through the shop floor and eliminating wastes from processes. After getting promoted to the role of Master Planner Scheduler, I took the initiative to improve the efficiency of the supply chain by eliminating the wastes from the processes. By coordinating the efforts of Operations, Engineering, Materials, and Purchasing, I was able to create a comprehensive production strategy that helped to reduce the lead time of trucks by 10%. During the fiscal year 2017, I was involved in developing an agile production plan that helped to ship 50% more trucks than the actual forecasted number of trucks. During the same time, I was involved in the ERP [Epicor] Implementation Project, Where I was responsible for implementing the Job Management, Scheduling, and Material Requirement Planning Modules. In my current role as Operations Supervisor, I am responsible for the development and maintenance of the annual production plan supporting the needs of the customers. I am involved in all aspects of Supply Chain which includes but not limited to planning, scheduling, sourcing, inventory management, logistics, production etc.
