Provide technical consulting power expertise in air quality control system and water and wastewater retrofit projects, O&M improvements and optimization, power plant boiler chemical feed systems and control. Coal Combustion Residual/Effluent Limitations Guidelines Compliance PlansAt PRB coal fired power plant, developed design basis for redirecting streams currently transported to the ash pond to support compliance with Coal Combustion Residual regulations and closing the ash pond. Evaluated options for optimization in cost and operating flexibility for water flow on site, catch basins, plant equipment and water balance, coal pile runoff, precipitator fly ash wash water, and wastewater basins. Developed and executed plan for data collection, stream flows, sampling and analysis, and pilot plant testing for wastewater treatment system design. At bituminous coal fired power plant, developed design basis for long term compliance plans in regulatory response to Effluent Limitation Guidelines and Coal Combustion Residual regulations. Assessing the current operational approach to material handling and conversion from impoundments for bottom ash, pyrites, fly ash, gypsum and water and wastewater treatment for plant make up water, nonchemical metal cleaning wastes, coal pile runoff, low volume waste, FGD blowdown, and ash transport sluicing water.Utility MATS Compliance PlansProvided engineering to design, procure, and install mercury mitigation systems at the plant, including Oxidation Chemical injection to the coal, Dry Sorbent injection prior to flue gas particulate collection, and Re-emission Chemical injection to the wet FGD systems. Overall plant design objective achieved maximum mercury mitigation flexibility.
