About Jay Schwedler
As the President & CEO of TheLink Alliance, Sumter EDGE and Sumter Economic Development, I lead and manage the economic development activities of two non-profit organizations and two county economic development agencies, all playing under an umbrella, that promotes and supports the growth and prosperity of the Sumter and Lee County, SC region. I have more than 26 years of experience in the field of economic development, with credentials such as EDFP, SCCED, and Economic Development Master Practitioner.My core competencies include negotiations, deal structuring, incentives management, finance, board governance, policy, public relations, budgeting, and workforce development strategies. I have successfully facilitated the recruitment, retention, and expansion of industry and business in the area, resulting in multiple awards and recognition, such as North American Top 50 Economic Developer and South Carolina Developer of the Year. I am also a co-owner of F45 Training, a team training health and fitness studio that offers a high-intensity, life-changing workout environment. My mission is to be a solution provider, a strategic thinker, a facilitator, and a team builder for the economic development of the region and the well-being of its residents.
