Jay Satterfield is a Senior Principal at North Shore Strategies (NSS), currently based out of Washington, D.C, where he leads both the firm’s Southern Division and its National Division. Originally anchored in New York City, NSS has expanded under Jay’s leadership to become a national political and strategic force, providing high-level counsel in communications, fundraising, and campaign strategy.Jay’s career spans nearly a decade of political strategy and public service. Prior to joining NSS for a second time, Jay served as Government Affairs Manager (briefly) for the National Turkey Federation. Before that, he had the honor of serving Congresswoman Elaine Luria (VA-02) in several roles including Federal Grants Coordinator, Labor Outreach Manager, and Constituent Services Representative. Jay’s foundation in politics was forged in his early years by Dirt Road and Blue Collar Democratic Grandparents from the North GA mountains and later in life on the campaign trail, managing and consulting for races at the local, state, and federal levels across the country, from the Carolinas to California, he has worked politically in over 20 states. His expertise spans fundraising, communications, organizing, and campaign management. Jay has successfully raised millions of dollars for candidates and causes, while managing campaign budgets in the millions. Along the way, Jay has been inspired, been mentored, encouraged by some of the most respected voices in Democratic politics, including, James Carville, former Senate Majority Leader Tom Daschle, and Congresswoman Elaine Luria. Their mentorship and influence have shaped Jay’s values and sharpened his political instincts, reinforcing a belief that public service and progressive leadership can drive real change.
