About Jay Prasad

I have always had a passion for reading literature, especially, philosophy from a very early age. I was led by my father to it. I developed a very romanticist outlook towards life due to it and always rooted for the underdog. Reading developed a keen sense of writing in me and these skills coupled with observation have helped me pull through most of the academics in my career. Preparing for law honed my syllogism, analytical and logical reasoning skills. I developed critical reading and interpretation skills by thorough analysis of case laws. Joining Tiss opened avenues for me in the social research sector, i delved deeper into developmental economics and was impressed by the works of Amartya Sen and Sabina Alkire. I am currently working on my dissertation on Poverty of Time and Energy inspired by the Multi-dimensional Poverty Index and the time-use survey used in the 76th round NSSO. I have mastered Stata and R along with research design and methodology through my course and work in internships. Further, Project Management and Impact Evaluation are the other courses that interested me and i gained valuable experience in the internships of these courses.
