ABOUT JAY MCGILTON

I am a determined and hardworking individual constantly looking to get the best out of myself and others around me. I have a diverse range of experience in high-pressure office environments, fast paced studio broadcasts and unpredictable location shoots which have moulded me into a resilient professional that aims to set the tempo rather than try to keep up. I have been active in the industry for over three years having been very fortunate to have had numerous BBC and Channel 4 opportunities in Belfast, London and Birmingham and work with incredibly talented and diverse production teams which has had an impact on both my character and work ethic.I am driven to forge a career for myself as a creative storyteller and producer in comedy and have independently proven this with my six-part audio sketch series ‘Sounds of Unfathomable Horror’ which I co-wrote, recorded and sound edited with my troupe Past The Label. I also wrote and directed ‘Roaring Boys’, a comedy web-series releasing five episodes between 2017-18 and an audio special in July 2020.I am always looking for new opportunities and challenges in which I can continue to improve my skills and develop myself in any way I can.
