About Jay Martin
Hi, my name is Jay! Currently I am an Installation Engineer II with TechnipFMC working under the Major Operators Technical Services department in Houston, Texas. I support offshore and related onshore field work scopes related to upper completions. I am also and pursuing the Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM) certification through PMI as a stepping stone for working towards the Project Management Professional (PMP) certification. I have completed the Bachelor of Engineering Co-op Program in Mechanical Engineering at Memorial University of Newfoundland, where I have developed strong skills in project engineering, computer-aided design (CAD) and subsea oil and gas engineering. Previously, I was employed as a Subsea Projects Engineering Student at Cenovus Energy. I supported subsea related scopes such as saturation diving, flexible pipe installation, and subsea construction activities for the West White Rose Project. I also interfaced with various external and internal stakeholders, and supported onshore preparation operations, such as the fabrication of subsea structures.I have also worked as a Front End and Integration Engineering Intern and a Design Centre Student at TechnipFMC in Houston, Texas, where I gained valuable experience in developing material requisitions, method statements, and technical knowledge on subsea equipment.I am passionate about anything technology, especially CAD animation and modelling, coding, and video editing. I have completed the Tech Stewardship Practice Program, which enhanced my tech skills and stewardship mindset. Outside of my education and work life, I also have a love for fitness and music. I am a competitive powerlifter and I enjoy playing the guitar and recording songs in my home studio. My goal is to apply my engineering skills and creativity to solve complex problems and make a positive impact in the oil and gas industry.
