ABOUT JAY DEVONISH

Jay Devonish is a seasoned music industry professional based in Toronto, Ontario, with over two decades of experience in fundraising, project management, marketing, audio/video production, and education. As the Founder and Partner at DMC Grants Inc, he specializes in assisting artists, entrepreneurs, and businesses in securing funding for their development. In addition to his role at DMC Grants, Jay is the Founder and Owner of FORESEEN Entertainment, a boutique record label and publishing company that promotes cutting-edge talent. The label’s catalogue includes recordings from Grammy and Juno-nominated artists Georgia Anne Muldrow and Moonshine. In his creative role with FORESEEN, Jay produces music under the alias Olmec Records and is the video director and producer of the series ‘My Home Studio Tour,’ which showcases music producer’s home studio set-ups. Jay’s extensive career includes over 19 years at Entertainment One (formerly KOCH Entertainment), where he served as Director of A&R Marketing, Label Manager, and Artist Manager. In this capacity, he was responsible for marketing labels such as Death Row Records, Stones Throw, and BBE, and project managing releases from notable artists such as J Dilla, Madlib & MF Doom, DJ Khaled, Jim Jones, Wu-Tang Clan, Snoop Dogg, Gyptian, Aloe Blacc, Slaughter House and more. His direct signings included BADBADNOTGOOD & Ghostface Killah, Rhye, Keys N Krates, and Charlotte Day Wilson. From 20••••23 Jay served as the Director of IP Development for LA-based gaming company Faze Clan. In his role, Jay was responsible for the creation of new IP initiatives and being the direct liaison with celebrity FaZe members Bronny James, Snoop Dogg, Kyler ‘K1’ Murray, and Lil’ Yachty.Beyond his executive roles, Jay is committed to education and mentorship. Since 2013, he has taught the Business of Music program at The Remix Project, a non-profit organization dedicated to supporting young creatives in the music and arts sectors. He also spent 11 years at the post-secondary school, Harris Institute for the Arts, teaching their Independent Distribution course.Throughout his career, Jay has demonstrated a deep commitment to nurturing emerging talent and contributing to the vibrancy of the creative community.
