About Jay Crosby
I was a difficult child to teach, and while some did their best, most grew frustrated, and I faced frequent discipline. I remember these experiences vividly, and the memories instruct who I am as a teacher and leader. Because of my past, I am an incredibly empathetic educator. Effectively, I know now what I wish I knew then and impart that to my students and peers. Teaching is a social process, and I have become very good at it due to my professional and lived experiences. I empower students to think critically and challenge the norm. I provide 21st-century skills essential for students to harness their full potential to affect positive change. Adolescents are often very loud but not often heard. I provide youth with the skills to be heard and deliver an informed and experienced message. My teaching and leadership scaffold learning to harness the full potential of intellectuals and develop their leadership capacity to succeed in a global society.
