ABOUT JAWDAT SHASHAA
I am an independent consultant advising banks, fintechs, and financial platforms on growth, innovation, and strategic execution. My work sits at the intersection of banking, fintech, and emerging financial infrastructure. I advise on digital banking strategy, market expansion, fundraising readiness, partnership strategy, operating model design, and blockchain-based applications in finance. Before launching my independent practice, I spent nearly 19 years at Citi in senior corporate and institutional banking roles across North America and the Middle East. Over the course of my banking career, I managed client relationships and business portfolios that generated more than $1.8 billion in cumulative banking revenues, with experience spanning transaction banking, structured finance, capital markets solutions, and working capital solutions. I am also an active angel investor and a mentor and advisor to founders, which gives me direct exposure to the realities of venture growth, fundraising, and product development. Particular areas of interest include digital banking, SME finance, financial infrastructure, tokenization, digital assets, and the practical commercialization of innovation in financial services.
