It was during my time in retail that I truly found my passion, ‘developing others’.It all began when I was asked to help develop the skills of a new starter within the store I was working at. I was tasked with training them on store procedures, developing their customer service skills and mentoring them until they were ready to go onto the sales floor. Watching this person develop gave me a sense of achievement that I had never really felt before. I knew then that this is what I wanted to do. This continued whilst I was in retail, supporting and training new starters when required. This first taste of training and development enticed me to move into my passion for developing others, prompting me to leave the retail business so that I could focus on what I love doing. Fast forward 20 years and I still love doing what I do…helping individuals and teams be the best they can be. I genuinely believe there is an abundance of untapped talent in organisations across the globe and unlocking this hidden talent is the spark an organisation needs to thrive and flourish.
