ABOUT JAMES ATKINSON

I am currently a Deals Advisory Value Creation Associate at PwC. I recently completed my HBA at Ivey Business School at Western University. In the summer of 2022 I had an internship at Penfund in downtown Toronto. This experience motivated me to pursue a career in financial analysis and consulting. Through the case based learning at Ivey Business School I have discovered my talent for intuitive problem solving and ability to successfully identify important trends and patterns within cases. I really enjoy the variety that the cases provide and would like to extend my enjoyment to the variety that a career in consulting would provide. During the summer of 2020 I was unable to return to Penfund to continue my internship due to the COVID-19 pandemic so I had to do some problem solving of my own. I created, financed, marketed, and managed my own summer camp to provide a service that had been eliminated by the pandemic. My sports day camp successfully ran for five weeks following all COVID guidelines while providing families a place to send their kids during the summer. My five year plan includes finishing my education, taking time to travel and then becoming a financial consultant in a major city in Canada or the United States.
