Operational Oversight:Lead and manage real-time airport operations across terminal, airside, and landside.Monitor flight activity, respond to disruptions (e.g, weather, delays, diversions), and ensure contingency plans are activated.Coordinate with airline ground services, handling agents, Border Force, and NATS (National Air Traffic Services).Emergency & Incident Response:Act as the Silver Command or Tactical Commander during emergency events.Implement the airport emergency plan, working closely with blue light services and internal crisis teams.Log and report incidents via the Safety Management System.Passenger Experience & Service Standards:Resolve escalated passenger complaints, accessibility needs (e.g, PRM services), and customer service failures.Liaise with airline station managers and terminal teams to maintain high service levels.Compliance & Safety:Ensure operations comply with UK CAA, DfT security standards, and HSE regulations.Conduct inspections and audits of airside/landside areas; address and report FOD, wildlife hazards, and unsafe practices.Stakeholder & Staff Coordination:Lead and brief multi-disciplinary shift teams, including security, cleaning, facilities, and control room staff.Chair or attend daily operations meetings (e.g, 0800 Tactical Brief, Crisis Response Planning).Handover with outgoing/incoming duty managers to ensure continuity of operations.
