About Jasper Puracan
I completed a MD/MPH dual degree program with the University of Arizona College of Medicine - Phoenix and the Mel and Enid Zuckerman College of Public Health in May 2021, and I am continuing my journey to become a psychiatrist and healthcare leader through my psychiatry residency with Banner Health in Phoenix. I previously graduated from the University of Arizona in May 2016, completing an honors degree in Molecular and Cellular Biology through the College of Science and a second degree in Accounting through the Eller College of Management. My intent is to integrate the knowledge and unique perspectives that each concentration offers into a vibrant career that energizes community-focused psychiatry with the principles of social and financial responsibility. I aim to work for the best interest of those in greatest need of help in our society with the skills I will gain throughout my career.

Completing my psychiatry residency with Banner University Medical Center - Phoenix. This entails treatment of patients hospitalized on a psychiatric unit, management of patients in an outpatient clinic setting, and consultation/liaison work with patients who present to the hospital with a primary non-psychiatric condition. This training encompasses prescribing psychotropic medications as well as engaging in psychotherapy with patients in efforts to address mental health concerns.
