About Jason Zakai

Jason Zakai, admitted to the bar and federal courts in New York and New Jersey, is a partner and litigation attorney at Hiller, PC, based in New York City. Jason has broad-based experience in federal and state courts, including both trial courts and appeals. Jason\'s practice primarily focuses on commercial litigation in a wide variety of business disputes, including contract disputes, employment litigation, business divorces and real estate and condominium/co-op litigation. Jason also has a dynamic land-use, preservation and zoning practice, representing organizations, community groups and non-profits in matters before community boards and city agencies, and in the litigation of Article 78 proceedings challenging governmental agency decisions. In May 2025, Jason was a panelist for a CLE entitled \"Litigating Land Use Article 78 Proceedings in NYC\". Prior to working at Hiller, PC, Jason was an attorney at Hughes Hubbard & Reed in New York, where his practice included complex commercial litigation, securities litigation and white collar criminal defense. Jason has also represented many pro bono clients in various types of litigation, including civil rights, criminal defense, social security disability and personal injury matters in state and federal courts and in administrative proceedings. While in law school, Jason served as a legal intern at the United States Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of New York, Criminal Division, for United States District Judge William H. Pauley, and for the New York City Council. Prior to law school, Jason served as an intern in the district office of United States Congresswoman Nydia Velazquez in New York, and for the re-election campaign of Governor Ruth Ann Minner in Delaware. Jason currently serves as Vice President-Membership of the Jewish Lawyers Guild. Jason is also a member of the Litigation Committee of the NYC Bar Association.Jason was named a Super Lawyer for the NYC Metro Area in 20••••25 and before that, was named a Super Lawyers Rising Star.
