ABOUT JASON WOYCHESHYN

My litigation practice includes corporate/commercial litigation, securities litigation, class actions, fraud law and professional negligence disputes. I have appeared before all levels of court in Ontario and Alberta, as well as a number of administrative and regulatory boards and tribunals. I am experienced in securities regulatory and enforcement matters, shareholder disputes, derivative actions, and obtaining extraordinary remedies in civil fraud cases. I have special expertise in e-discovery and record management issues in complex litigation. I have authored and presented several conference papers relating to litigation matters and have been published in the Annual Review of Civil Litigation, Labour Notes, the National Banking Law Review. I volunteer my time with the Ontario Securities Commission Litigation Assistance Program (providing legal representation to self-represented respondents in enforcement proceedings before the OSC), the Advocates\' Society, the Alberta Civil Trial Lawyers Association, the Ukrainian Canadian Professional and Business Association of Toronto, and the Thomas More Lawyers\' Guild of Toronto. I am also extensively involved in fundraising efforts for SickKids Foundation, Camp Oochigeas and the Princess Margaret Hospital Foundation. I regularly lecture at Osgoode Hall Law School and University of Western Law School in the areas of corporate and commercial litigation and class actions. Before joining Bennett Jones, I served as a law clerk with both the Alberta Court of Appeal and Court of Queen\'s Bench. Before practicing law, I was national champion track & field and volleyball athlete. My goal is to continue to expand my business network so that I can help my colleagues develop their businesses and advance their careers.
