About Jason Maglalang-Weakley
I am a Vice President at Kennedy Jenks with over 29 years of experience. I started my career working as a metallurgical engineer at the Red Dog Mine in northwest Alaska. My roles included: metallurgical engineer, analytical laboratory supervisor, mine water treatment engineer, and emergency medical technician My focus was on solving complex mine water related issues including source control, treatment, and optimizations of existing and new facilities to meet stringent discharge water quality standards. I worked closely with the company’s research group to develop and implement several bench and pilot plant studies to identify alternative technologies that could be used to address mine water quality challenges the facility faced. In 2008 I started working for URS Corporation (now AECOM) in Seattle leading a group of engineers focused on mining and mine water treatment projects. My team supported operating facilities as well historic mine closure and reclamation activities. I was a project manager and technical lead on several design projects throughout North America. In 2012 I transitioned to MWH Americas (now Stantec) where I was a project manager and project technical leader. I diversified my experience and got more involved with industrial wastewater treatment, serving clients in the aerospace, electronics, and food/beverage business sectors. I led and managed several Design/Build projects including industrial wastewater treatment plants, and industrial materials and mobile equipment storage facilities. In September 2020, I transitioned back to an employee-owned engineering firm and joined Kennedy Jenks. A deciding factor in joining the company was their Diversity and Inclusion culture and atmosphere. I now serve as a client director, client service manager, project manager, and project technical leader. I am responsible for business development which includes supporting and promoting cross selling all of Kennedy Jenks’ services to our clients.
