ABOUT JASON APALOO-SHONIBARE
Jason is a Child, Community & Educational Psychologist whose research interests include the application of Intersectionality Theory in exploring the interplay between racism and ableism in post-16 education. Jason’s background includes his work on the Board of Trustees for a SEND secondary school charity and Executive Function youth organisation. He jointly founded and chaired an independent Trainee Educational Psychologists’ Initiative for Cultural Change (TEPICC), that seeks to promote anti-racist practice within the Educational Psychology field. Jason has held various roles across the education, health and youth sectors including a voluntary period within the London Metropolitan Police Service. These diverse experiences inform Jason’s activism and provide him with effective community-based approaches to the socio-cultural and politicised challenges of certain marginalised groups.
