About Jason Rzepka
Jason has dedicated his 25 year career to leveraging communications and culture to accelerate change on our most pressing social challenges. He recently joined RALLY, a leading advocacy agency, as a senior director guiding strategic and cultural communications across advocacy-focused client accounts. Most recently, Jason was president and founder of WRIT LARGE, helping social impact leaders to scale urgent causes by harnessing the power of culture, communications and coalitions. Select clients included the NBA, Schultz Family Foundation, Yahoo, Alice Waters Institute for Regenerative Agriculture & Edible Education, Stand Together, Nuclear Threat Initiative and O••••••••@Work.Prior to founding WRIT LARGE, Jason helped launch the Societal Impact practice at SYPartners where he worked closely with world-changing partners including Emerson Collective/XQ Institute, Chan Zuckerberg Initiative, TIME’S UP and Kenneth Cole. Before SYP, Jason started the cultural practice at Everytown for Gun Safety and was part of the founding team that grew it to become the largest gun violence prevention organization in the country. He led the development of Everytown\'s first cultural strategy, created the Wear Orange campaign founded National Gun Violence Awareness Day and co-founded the Everytown Creative Council with Academy Award-winning actress Julianne Moore. Notably, he also partnered with the NBA and Spike Lee to spearhead the “End Gun Violence” campaign, which featured superstars Steph Curry, Chris Paul and Carmelo Anthony, debuting to an audience of more than 20 million on Christmas Day 2015. Before Everytown, Jason spent nearly a decade at MTV. He was promoted several times, ultimately serving in the role of Senior Vice President of public affairs and brand communications. His principal charge was to “use MTV’s superpowers for good” and his teams’ work was recognized with several Emmy, Peabody and Webby awards. Jason began his career working in strategic comms and PR — heading up communications at publicly-traded IMAX and non-profit PopTech, plus serving as a key member at respected firms Ruder Finn and Atomic Tech PR. He has been a featured speaker at the White House, United Nations, U.S. Capitol, South by Southwest and multiple TEDx events, plus appeared on/in NPR, CNN, the New York Times, Wall Street Journal, Reuters, ABC News and others. Jason’s enduring loves include Chicago sports, hip hop culture, running, Airstreaming and his little girl Ella.
