ABOUT JASON ROBERTS

I have spent my career working at the intersection of scientific communication, society leadership, and professional community building. My early work focused on transforming editorial office operations - an area of publishing that had long been undervalued despite its central role in maintaining the integrity, efficiency, and quality of scholarly communication. As a vocal advocate for greater professionalism in editorial management, I championed the hiring and development of skilled managing editors and helped elevate editorial operations across the industry. This commitment to raising standards led me to co-found the International Society of Managing and Technical Editors (ISMTE), which connects more than members internationally. For the past several years, I co-managed Origin Editorial, supporting biomedical and scientific journals of all sizes through data-driven peer review management and enhanced editorial services. Working with editors, societies, and publishers, I focused on strengthening collaboration, improving processes, and advancing best practices in publication ethics and research communication. This work also allowed me to contribute to multiple studies and to speak regularly at ISMTE, CSE, EASE, SSP, and other international forums.Today, I’ve taken that decades-long experience supporting scientific and medical societies and shifted it into a new strategic dimension as part of Status Plus. My work now focuses on helping associations grow, engage, and energize their communities through:• Innovative educational content and learning pathways• Integrated communication strategies that strengthen connection and clarity• Network-building that fuels collaboration and professional exchange• Strategic development initiatives that align mission, membership, and long-term impactI’m passionate about helping associations rethink how they deliver value - not just through publications, but through the full ecosystem of member experience. My goal is to support societies in building stronger communities, amplifying their influence, and creating sustainable, mission-driven growth. “Creating global connections for a healthier world” is the mission that powers Status Plus. Be it scholarly publishing or association management, elevating health outcomes through improved reporting of research and greater access to educational resources/opportunities for all has both inspired and driven me. There is nothing I enjoy more than galvanizing individuals and organizations to be the best they can be, realizing their full potential in the process.
