About Jason Lackie
Sustainability specialist with a primary focus on energy analysis through modeling and simulation. My career path has concentrated on improving building performance while maintaining focus on the development of engaging, functional spaces. I place a high value on fostering greater understanding of sustainable principles among the general public and professional fields. I’m a capable team leader, group collaborator, and mentor in architecture and energy efficiency designs. My work has involved complex projects from design, engineering, and construction viewpoints – I strongly value communication across these trades.Recent Work:Cities. Working with municipalities to develop energy master plans highlighted the challenges of adapting sustainable strategies to address the needs of multiple stakeholders. As a member of consulting and master planning teams I have analyzed municipal infrastructure and policy to both identify opportunities for performance improvements and establish long term visions for municipal development. Campuses.Understanding the complex interactions between utilities and campus infrastructure is a major challenge for institutions of higher education. As a member of Energy and Master Planning teams I have worked closely with universities mapping campus utility infrastructure, benchmarking building energy use and emissions, and visualizing data to communicate existing conditions. Emission Reduction. High-level institution decision makers need to quickly and intuitively understand the impact their choices have on future campus performance. Working closely with members of energy and master planning teams and drawing on ACUPCC and Clean Air Cool Planet procedures, I developed a dashboard to allow users to parametrically adjust defined institutional variables and be provided with instant feedback to the long term effects on energy and emissions.
