About Jay Kotzker
Jay Kotzker is experienced in all areas of intellectual property and general business law, including brand development and protection; entity formation, contract drafting, negotiation and review, and guiding clients through cannabis business licensing, compliance, operational issues, mergers and acquisitions and business disputes. Jay routinely interfaces with governmental agencies such as the NLRB, OSHA, Colorado Department of Labor and various local governments and planning commissions. Jay has extensive experience in regulatory compliance, risk management and training, and dispute resolution. Jay\'s contract drafting and negotiation experience includes vendor agreements, SaaS, license agreements, asset purchase agreements, employment agreements and various partnership and M&A agreements. Jay also routinely manages outside litigation counsel. From an IP perspective, Jay has experience in all areas of trademark, copyright, Internet, and sports and entertainment, including searching, clearing, filing, and prosecuting domestic trademarks; maintaining, policing and defending trademark registrations, assisting clients in creating international trademark portfolios, enforcing domain name registrations. International trademark experience includes Madrid Protocol filings, European Community filings and national filings throughout the world, as well as maintenance of international trademark portfolios through a network of foreign trademark experts. Also experienced in the filing and prosecution of copyright registration applications with the U.S. Copyright Office, in trademark and copyright licensing, intellectual property litigation as well as the creation of effective End User License Agreements, Privacy Policies, Terms of Use and Internet advertising, e-commerce and privacy matters.
