ABOUT JASON HULL
My Journey into software development started in graphic design and print production in the large format printing industry. I experienced much growth in different areas that ranged from photo-retouching, page layout, and workflow design for lean production. I have always had a passion for learning to solve problems with digital data, so becoming a software developer was all too natural. In my previous life, I utilized industry-standard tools and applications such as Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, Macromedia Freehand, and Quark Express. I\'m intrigued when learning about other software and systems, such as the Scitex Brisque and Durst Lambda printing devices. In 2008, after the great recession, I had the opportunity to change my focus to other areas of interest. I chose to go back to school. During this time, I had various other jobs and positions that helped support me while I attended school. These roles included Direct Marketing, Event Coordinator, Technical Support, and Freelance Graphic Design. In 2013, I received my Bachelor of Art in Communication. This path helped ignite my interest in learning new things and expanding my knowledge. After a short career break to care for my 2 children, I went back to school for my Master\'s Degree in Public Administration. During this time, I found an interest in helping others and wanted to make a difference. I was awarded my Master of Arts in Liberal Studies in 2018. After completing my degree, I found my way into the public sector as a Special Education Paraeducator, helping students from underserved and underrepresented communities. I was reintroduced to coding during a middle school coding class at a district school, beginning my current pivot. In the first year of my pivot, I was self-taught, the following year, I found Career Karma, and they introduced me to Software Engineering Bootcamps, where I joined Springboard. I completed the Full-Stack Development track at Springboard while working full-time. Now I have completed the Full Stack Fellowship. I continue to learn every day, and I am very passionate about learning and advancing my knowledge of Software Development. I am presently working with React, JavaScript, HTML, CSS, Python, Flask, Git, SQL, NodeJS, UI design, API design, and various other programs and databases. I am looking for front-end developer roles and hope to one day join an organization that values the skills and abilities I have gained over the years and that I have the opportunity to create new and innovative programs and technological advancements that improve our everyday lives.
