MissionThe Minnesota State Engineering Center of Excellence facilitates relationships by engaging academic institutions with industry and provides educational outreach by inspiring interest in science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM). These efforts shape the next generation of engineers who will solve real-world problems.Efforts and programs to address:Underrepresented into STEM fields•Latino Engineering Academic Day (LEAD), African-American Engineering Day (A2LEAD), Girls Academic day - promoting STEM careers and to high school students;•Girls Explore STEMSTEM Exploration•STEM summer camps: Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, 3D printing, etc.•Numerous K-12 career promotional events (50+ annually)•Minnesota Project Lead The Way (PLTW) for K-12 students•High school and middle school Rube Goldberg contest•Regional Science Fair for both high school and middle schoolClosing The Gap – Secondary education to industry needs•MNAMP Grant - industry/educator workshop facilitator and articulation collaboration•Lean Academic program - curriculum to teach and apply Lean tools with an industry partner, teaching students industry organic growth techniques to address employment deficienciesCampus engagement•Numerous academic search committees•Engineering student support including mock interviews and speaking engagements•Mechanical Engineering Senior Design reviews•Project manage campus Makerspace with 4-3D printers for all student access•Ag/CSET marketing promotion of science fields and how they relate to Ag opportunitiesState activities•Lead initiator for MN Mfg Workforce Partnership - effort increase efficiency by raising project awareness for cross-collaboration opportunities among state programs/organizations•MN Tour of ManufacturingCommunity engagement•Elementary school student STEM campus field trip•Support of Southern MN Children’s Science MuseumVisit us: https://engineering.mnsu.edu/
