About Jason Jay Breneman
Currently applying my decade plus of experience managing a small law practice in Central Virginia to the new field of teaching Civics and History in the Hanover County Public School system.Formerly a general legal practitioner in all matters criminal and civil with a special focus on the internet law field, including assisting clients in the protection and defense of intellectual property related to website and internet design. Provided research and consulting services for extensive issues combining both legal procedure and technical aspects of online business interaction; especially cybersquatting (including improper SEO tactics and IP infringement), drafting and negotiation of eCommerce contracts, online defamation defense, and other internet-related legal matters. Continue to support large-scale eDiscovery efforts for a number of downtown Richmond firms involved in multi-district litigation of all sorts, including international pharmaceutical liability and intellectual property misappropriation. Have facilitated the incorporation and launch of several 501(c)3 entities in Georgia and Virginia, and continues to serve several non-profits as both a legal consultant and a board member. Currently represents clients in civil matters including wrongful death, medical malpractice, pharmaceutical liability, estate and property matters, and serious personal injury. When not busy working for clients, my family and I are active in the local community. You can often find us on family runs at Pole Green park near Mechanicsville, exercising together at the Patrick Henry YMCA in Ashland, attending Atlee Community Church (where Jay and Anne are small group leaders and Jay plays percussion with the worship team), or otherwise enjoying the wide diversity of historical, cultural, and outdoor events and locations that the Richmond area has to offer.Specialties: Possibly the most exciting aspect of my practice is my work in the Internet Law field. I love working alongside creative professionals of all types: software programmers, web designers, graphic artists, social media gurus, musicians, and photographers. I have a well-earned appreciation for both the unique aspects of the creative process and the importance of securing Intellectual Property rights.I greatly enjoy assisting creative professionals reap the full benefits and rewards of their work.
