About Jason Batt

WHO I AMI’m Jason D. Batt, Ph.D. — a technological philosopher, mythologist, futurist, artist, writer, and organizational leader with more than 25 years of creative and strategic experience. My work sits at the intersection of myth and technology, where I guide organizations to imagine, design, and realize bold futures. I specialize in bridging gaps—between vision and execution, client and audience, leadership and teams—using story, imagery, and creative strategy as transformational tools.I have co-founded and led multiple ventures at the edge of culture and innovation, including Deep Space Predictive Research Group, Project Lodestar, Signal Hill Road Publishing, and the International Society of Mythology. As Creative and Editorial Director of 100 Year Starship—the DARPA-seeded initiative for interstellar futures—I founded and expanded the Canopus Awards for Excellence in Interstellar Writing, a global program honoring literature and scholarship that shapes how we envision humanity’s cosmic horizon. My creative portfolio spans both imaginative media and academic thought. I’m the author of novels such as Onliest, Young Gods, and Dreamside; editor of anthologies including Visions of the Future and Strange California; and contributor to academic projects like the Journal of Space Philosophy. My recent chapter, “Evolving Light” (in Outer Space and Religion, Routledge, 2023), reflects my ongoing exploration of how myth and meaning evolve as humanity ventures into the stars.I am also a storyteller in the living sense: for nearly two decades, I’ve crafted immersive worlds as a Dungeon Master, transforming game mechanics into mythic journeys where players confront archetypes, fate, and wonder.Across every endeavor—whether building organizations, shaping futures, or crafting stories—I remain dedicated to a single throughline: to create, innovate, and inspire, guiding others to see the possible and make it real.
