About Jason Westin
Research offers the hope to develop new cures for diseases like cancer and chronic illnesses. In the United States, only 3% of all patients with cancer are treated on a clinical trial. As a strong advocate for clinical research, I design and conduct clinical trials to improve health and believe that our best weapon against cancer is research. My research focus is finding new treatments, new cures, and developing new weapons to treat the most common cancer of the immune system, diffuse large B-cell lymphoma. I lead a large team of medical oncologists, cancer researchers, pathologists, mid level providers, research nurses, research data coordinators, financial professionals, and support staff with a focus on making real progress for our patients. To clarify, my opinions here are my own and not reflective of any institution. In recognition of the innovative potential of my research, I received an American Society of Clinical Oncology Conquer Cancer Foundation Career Development Award in 2015, one of only 11 Awards bestowed across cancer research that year. I\'ve received many other awards, but the most important has been the respect of my patients.
