Jason K. Tompkins is Managing Partner of Asana Partners. He has 28 years of commercial real estate experience in operations, acquisitions, dispositions, redevelopment, and capital markets. Tompkins has served as lead execution officer on more than $20 billion of private and public real estate and capital markets transactions, including portfolio and company acquisitions, private equity placements, initial public offerings, joint ventures, secured financings, and unsecured financings.Before co-founding Asana Partners in mid-2015, Tompkins was the Chief Financial Officer of EDENS, one of the nation’s leading owners, operators, and developers of retail real estate. EDENS owns 123 retail centers comprising 17 million square feet and approximately $6 billion in value.Previously, Tompkins was a Vice President with Wachovia Securities’ Real Estate Investment Banking group in Richmond, VA, a Director within the real estate group of Andersen Corporate Finance, LLC (NASD Broker-Dealer subsidiary of Arthur Andersen) in Washington, D.C, and a Vice President of European Mergers & Acquisitions for GE Capital Real Estate in Paris, France.Tompkins is a past Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Hammond School. He is a member of Liberty Fellowship, a global leadership initiative sponsored by the Aspen Institute, where he serves on the Board of Trustees; the International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC); the Pension Real Estate Association (PREA); and the Urban Land Institute (ULI).Tompkins received a Bachelor of Science degree in Aerospace Engineering from Virginia Tech and has completed executive management coursework at the Wharton School, the Aspen Institute, and INSEAD in Fontainebleau, France.
