School Based Supervisor of English Language Arts @PATERSON PUBLIC SCHOOLS

Instructional leader to the Department of English Language Arts, serving eighty educators. Facilitate meetings in order to support staff, meet curriculum guidelines, improve student growth, resolve conflicts, and communicate district/state objectives. Observe and evaluate assigned staff in order to ensure standards are attained and performance is maximized.Support other administrators in co-evaluations of additional staff for the purpose of assessing performance, enhancing student learning and planning staff development. Develop and facilitate ongoing professional development such as: meetings, tutorials, professional development plans and goals. Provide valuable feedback on teaching practices and lesson plans in order to further improve student growth and academics. Facilitate and support staff on the implementation of effective reading and writing strategies for the PARCC Assessment.Analyze assessment data to drive professional development and student growth.Implement strategies and innovative educational programs which reflect 21st century learning skills. Revise and enhance District created curriculum to reflect New Jersey Model Curriculum. Participate in conferences, workshops and seminars for the purpose of relaying and gathering information necessary to carry out functions and/or facilitate to the staff. Identify and evaluate departmental and school wide needs for purpose of ensuring the professional and effective functioning of the department/school as a unit. Communicate effectively with six principals, four assistant principals, supervisors, teachers, staff, parents and students in order to promote a positive school environment. Carry out other related duties as assigned in order to best serve the community and school. Demonstrate professionalism at all times in order to contribute to a constructive school atmosphere in order to best serve students.
