ABOUT JASON NORTH
I am a Captain with the Alexandria (VA) Police Department with experience in law enforcement operations, investigations, tactics, and administration. I currently lead the Technology Services Division where we work to research, develop, and operationalize an array of law enforcement technologies and services. I consider myself to be an energetic leader who employs evidence-based practices to advance the effectiveness and professionalism of law enforcement. I hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Criminology and Criminal Justice from the University of Maryland; a Master of Public Administration (MPA) from George Mason University; a Graduate Certificate in Certified Public Management (CPM) from George Washington University; and a Graduate Certificate in Emergency Management and Homeland Security from George Mason University. I am a graduate of the FBI National Academy, Northwestern University School of Police Staff and Command (SPSC) as well as the Police Executive Research Foundation (PERF) Senior Management Institute of Police (SMIP). I am honored to contribute as a LEADS Scholar for the National Institute of Justice (NIJ) and as an Executive Fellow at the National Police Institute (NPI).
