Jason Merrill is a Senior Technology Architect for the User Knowledge and Experience Team at Guidewire Software. Jason has a Master’s in Instructional Technology from Utah State University, a U.S. patent holder, certified ScrumMaster, and has over 28 years’ experience in the e-learning industry. Interests and skills are in system architecture, system administration, software programming, artificial intelligence, graphic design, media production and instructional design. His work lately has focused on system architecture, including software automation of workflows through API integration and artificial intelligence solutions for generative AI content synthetic media in the learning industry. Jason was part of the Guidewire team that won both 2021 & 2023 TSIA Innovation in Technology for Education Services awards. He was awarded the Ultimate Innovator award at Guidewire Software\'s annual Professional Services meeting in 2023 for his innovative technology solutions using artificial intelligence, synthetic media, and Python tooling that improved work processes and efficiency and cost saving reductions of 93%. Jason took 3rd place overall in the company\'s 2030 A.I. Science Fair, competing among 3,500 employees worldwide in 100 other teams as well as the Guidewire Professional Services 2023 Ultimate Innovator award and team member and contributor to TSIA\'s Innovation in Technology for Education Services. He has been a co-author on two patents on learning technologies and an presenter and attendee at learning and technology conferences.
