About Jason McKinney

Electricity is shocking!I always knew from a young age that I had to know how things worked, and nothing was more intriguing than electricity. It powered everything I saw in life and I had to know and understand how it worked.That mindset drove me to learn and study electricity and how to become an electrician. From high school courses to college and on the industrial manufacturing world, learning and gaining experience in the trade helped to satisfy that hunger. That thirst for understanding of how things work remained though, so I sought additional experience in the mechanical world and moved into larger maintenance-electrician roles.As a seasoned troubleshooter, I love to problem solve and find the root cause of a situation. One of the problems I could see was the way some organizations viewed maintenance and repair operations as a necessary evil and not the protectors of their equipment and investments. I set my sights on becoming a leader of people and teams to help dispel that notion.I’ve learned so much along the way, even though some of life’s lessons were harder to accept than others, they’ve all built me into who I am today. I’ve been given the opportunity to project manage, operations manage, maintenance manage, and now facilities manage. I’m blessed to work for a world class organization in Eaton and I am excited for what the future holds.Leadership, personal growth, providing exceptional management, and the quest for knowledge will continue to drive me.

   Vendor Management - Daily management of onsite vendors. This includes establishing and holding vendors accountable to key performance indicators for Property Management (building engineering, security, janitorial, mail, switchboard & reception), dining services, fitness center and managed print services.Project Management - Identify, plan, gain approval for, and manage facility projects. This will maintain safety, brand, technology, and budget. Examples include space reconfigurations, event planning, and capital projects.Financial Management - Lead the development of the department\'s annual budget, track expenses to plan, participate in monthly variance analysis and forecast adjustments. Detailed analysis and financial modeling are periodically required.Space Management - Design & manage the move, add, change process. Supervise the space assignment plan, including proactive space planning, restack planning, and utilization reporting.Environmental, Health & Safety - Provide EHS leadership for Eaton Center. Cultivate Safety Marshalls and Green Team members to actively identify and respond to EHS, sustainability, and emergency medical issues. Lead investigations and reports of EHS incidents. Complete regulatory reports such as OSHA 300 & EPA Tier II. Ensure completion of relevant EHS education and training.Systems Implementation & Continuous Improvement - Use management tools to design, implement and manage systems and processes that improve the safety, reliability, and efficient operation of Eaton Center.
