Claims Manager @Liberty Mutual Reinsurance

At Liberty we follow a regional approach accommodating our huge growth, realising a Reinsurance book of $3.1bn.My role pertains to business written out of our London, Bermuda, Australia and Singapore branches, whilst supporting the wider Claims team and Branches in other regions. Promoting and marketing our offering across all regions remains a crucial part and is key in raising awareness and developing new business opportunities. My secondment to our Bermuda office followed a new Reinsurance licence and proved fruitful, establishing new relations on the island and collaborating with local office leadership, we currently write US$220m in Reinsurance business there alone. More beckons I’m sure, including our new Singapore offering (R/I) which has just begun recently.Applying technical and practical insight to complex and difficult situations comes with the job. Working with my team, we apply progressive thinking to an extensive number of accounts and we’ve managed to build good reputation for delivering exceptional service.Connecting with our brokers and clients is key to how we do things at Liberty. Investment in developing our relationships has allowed us to build a strong Claims presence within the market, the aim being to maintain a market leading proposition. I have a personal investment in building this out over the years and whilst always looking to do more, I am proud what we’ve built and achieved so far.Actively participating or leading off Market Forum discussion or initiatives help with intel, emerging issues, market trends and progressive solutions.My focus also includes people development; claim audits; project work; building out our MI offering; BD strategy; and U/W engagement. We are encouraged to think outside-the-box for new ideas and opportunities, something I’ve been drawn towards with good end results.A Mutual company with billions of asset and revenue allows us to take long-term views and make decisions with a ‘mutual-advantage’.
