About Jason McDevitt

I\'ve been working in new product development (broadly defined) since grad school. Mostly I\'ve been inventing new technologies and trying to commercialize them (or helping others do the same) whether in big companies or startups, or alternatively through licensing to third parties. Along the way, I\'ve spent a lot of time in the general healthcare space trying to develop drugs (and nutraceuticals) and medical devices, and additionally have patents and/or developed commercial products in a range of fields including hair care, textiles, polymer synthesis, oral care, and ammunition. Some current interests are described below in the projects section.

   Diavita Therapeutics

   DiaVita is a startup company developing safe, natural, nutraceutical food products to treat and prevent insulin resistance, not only for people with diabetes and prediabetes but for everyone else who can\'t avoid a Western diet and would like to remain healthy. Our initial product is a proprietary nutraceutical product that not only tastes great but lowers A1C levels, reduces average blood glucose levels, and decreases hyperglycemic episodes in people with diabetes. In healthy subjects, our product reduces post-prandial glucose spikes through a variety of mechanisms, including naturally boosting GLP-1, slowing stomach emptying, and inhibiting enzymes involved in glucose production. We are seeking funding to commercialize this product.
