I’m a dedicated and accomplished Human Resources Manager with a rich 28-year background in the US Navy as a Navy Career Counselor. With a Master\'s in Human Resource Management and a Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR) certification, I bring a unique blend of strategic leadership, team management, and a proven track record of success in overseeing comprehensive HR activities within government and military settings. My passion lies in orchestrating comprehensive HR activities, fostering strategic leadership, equal opportunity advocacy, and impactful career development. Leading a 28-person team overseeing human resources activities for personnel across 23 locations, I pride myself on my strategic leadership and team management skills. I successfully orchestrated the inaugural Career Counselor Corps symposium, providing invaluable insights into career progression. What sets me apart is not just my extensive experience within the Navy but also my work ethic, discipline, and graduate degree. As a 28-year Navy veteran with an active secret clearance, I bring unparalleled dedication and reliability. Fluent in Spanish, I communicate effectively and work seamlessly with diverse teams. My management style revolves around leading by example, showing empathy, and maintaining professionalism. My commitment to equal opportunity is evident through spearheading Diversity & Inclusion initiatives, addressing barriers to equality, and conducting climate assessments on Equal Opportunity goals. I played a pivotal role in developing the Active & Reserve Leadership Development Roadmap, setting new standards for career development assistance. My impact extends to career development & mentorship, having managed the Navy Reserve Career Development program. Additionally, I was honored to serve as the elected President of the Greater San Diego Chief Petty Officers Association, organizing events that enhanced unit morale and cohesion. Growing up in Alamosa, CO, I developed a strong sense of discipline, commitment, & goal accomplishment through my sports involvement. Outside of work, I find joy in outdoor sports, jogging, hiking, & caring for my two dogs. My volunteer work with various charitable organizations reflects my dedication to community service.
