About Jason Lowenstein

Jason Lowenstein has been in the Wind/Renewables Industry for the past 16 years, and joined EDFR in 2015, where he currently holds the position as Director of Wind Technology Optimization. Jason received his Masters Degree (MRes) in Earth and Atmospheric Physics, and his PhD in Atmospheric Physics, from the University of Leeds, UK. From 2007 to 2015, Jason worked at OwnEnergy Inc, where as VP of Wind Resource and GIS, oversaw wind site prospecting, turbine layout designs and optimization, met tower configurations and data QC, pre-construction energy production estimates, operational assessments and turbine technology evaluation/selection. In 2015, OwnEnergy was successfully acquired by EDFR. As Director of Wind Technology Optimization at EDFR, Jason is currently responsible for the optimization of all onshore wind projects throughout North America, and the evaluation and selection of the optimal turbine technology for these projects, from both an economical and technical perspective. Over the past 9 years at EDFR, Jason has been responsible for the evaluation and technology selection for 16 now-operational projects totaling over 3 GW in size.
