My tenure in the Office of the Chief included formulating strategic plans to improve operations, oversight, and accountability. I oversaw strategic public safety projects and developed new initiatives with the support of R&D. In partnership with the City Attorney’s Office, I regularly conducted program reviews and updated procedures to meet legal and policy requirements. As a leader on city regulations, I regularly collaborated with city and business leaders to address regulatory concerns and provide guidance to enhance the business environment. I worked closely with the executive management team on a regular basis and ensured they were informed in a timely manner with succinct executive summaries. As the Unit Commander for special events, I advised and oversaw the public safety needs for festivals, races and other special events. I partnered with federal and local intelligence groups to coordinate security efforts for large events. I ensured regulatory compliance for permits and managed department staffing audits. I have developed and led the implementation of an online permit platform to improve the citizen experience. As a Division Commander in patrol operations, I managed the development and implementation of assigned department programs, advised and supervised large investigations, and ensured compliance with department policies. At emergencies, I was the critical incident manager and oversaw the deployment of specialized personnel and equipment.
