About Jason Herschkowitz
Currently studying breast cancer stem cells and claudin-low molecular subtype using animal models. Developing lentiviral inducible miRNA overexpression and pathway reporter vectors and techniques for mammary gland and tumor reconstitution experiments in mice. Comparative genomics of mouse and human mammary tumors. Used DNA microarrays to characterize mouse models of human breast cancer and compare with human tumor subtypes. Characterization of a new, rare subtype of human breast cancer, designated Claudin-low. Determined RB1 LOH is a common event in Basal-like and Luminal B breast tumors. Specialties: breast cancer, genomics, EMT, cancer stem cells, miRNAs, molecular biology
