ABOUT JASON HAND
I have a unique combination of compliance, audit, risk, accounting and technical mining industry experience. I initially completed a Ph.D. in Geology and worked as Project Geologist with Newmont. I then completed a Masters in Commerce, joined EY, becoming a Chartered Accountant providing risk and financial services to the mining industry. I joined the Group Internal Audit team of Rio Tinto in 2011 to manage various technical and financial assurance engagements across the Group. For the last ten years I have been in Ethics & Compliance leadership roles with Rio Tinto, including five years as the Chief Ethics & Compliance Officer.
