I have been working in the field of health information technology and quality improvement for over twenty-five years, having first started out developing websites for the Assistant Secretary for Planning and Evaluation (ASPE) to record abstracts for research they were funding in long-term care. Since that time, I have worked on the implementation guides for the HIPAA X12 837 and 277 standards for State Medicaid Agencies; developed Health Level Seven (HL7) specifications for immunization registries as as well as vaccine ordering and delivery; managed the development of applications to capture quality measures for hospitals, physician offices and nursing homes; assisted in the development of measures for Hospital Public Reporting and the Annual Payment Update (precursors to PQRS) for CMS; developed pilot EHRs for emergency preparedness; managed $50M projects for CDC and FDA; served as the Principal Investigator on a number of national research studies for the Office of the National Coordinator for Health IT; the Assistant Secretary for Planning and Evaluation; the Commonwealth Fund and the California HealthCare Foundation. I am a highly experienced Project Manager, who has supervised up to 40 staff with budgets as high as $75M and I am a proven business developer, who has generated over $40M in revenue within the health IT sector.
