   Dr. Garvin is a double board certified psychiatrist (Adult Psychiatry and Child and Adolescent Psychiatry), and the psychiatrist for the Houston OCD Program. For 10 years he was an assistant professor of psychiatry at the Menninger Department of Psychiatry, Baylor College of Medicine. Additionally, he has provided intensive psychotherapy and medication management for adults, adolescents, and children for over 12 years. Dr. Garvin graduated medical school from the Kansas City University of Medicine and Biosciences and completed his psychiatry residency and fellowship training at Baylor College of Medicine. After his fellowship training, he completed adult psychoanalytic training, and has continued helping patients via many therapeutic modalities. In 2001, Dr. Garvin completed a specialized inpatient OCD treatment residency rotation in Topeka, KS at The Menninger Clinic, prior to the clinic\'s move to Houston. Dr. Garvin has continued to maintain a strong interest in OCD since then and has further strengthened his skills in this subspecialty area. As an osteopathic physician, Dr. Garvin\'s approach is holistic. He believes Ketamine and TMS can often be effective in removing the impediments blocking therapeutic progress in patients suffering from depression. Dr. Garvin\'s goal is to provide long-term relief for patients battling mood disorders, anxiety, OCD, etc. without relying on potentially addictive medications if possible.
