About Jason Eric Perlman
An award-winning WGA screenwriter, feature film director and Emmy-recognized editor, I’ve been working professionally in the Hollywood film industry since graduating from the University of Southern California in 2004 with my MFA in film production. In 2023, I was listed as #4 in Entertainment Professionals to watch by LA Weekly. As a writer and director, I’m currently in sales on my 6mil feature sci-fi thriller \"SITE.\" The film has worldwide theatrical distribution and an amazing cast. As a working screenwriter, I am currently hired on a limited series for a major studio. The project is an adaptation of the award winning book, “Smogtown” by Chip Jacobs and William J. Kelly. In 2024 my company, Entelekey Media, acquired significant historical IP to produce a studio-level feature. This project has attached an additional Oscar-nominated producer and a well-known director. The project is currently in financing. Additionally, I\'ve created and set up a television series with Oscar-nominee Alexandra Milchan (\"Tár,\" “The Wolf of Wall Street”) and Emmy nominee Josh Weinstock (HBO’s “Nightingale”). I’m actively writing two other episodic television series concepts and a novel of historical fiction.My previous feature film as both a writer, director and editor is \"Threshold,\" released worldwide in June 2019 by Sony/Archstone Pictures. The film completed a successful festival run garnering multiple awards and was greeted with positive reviews. This haunting horror/thriller is available on all digital platforms.In conjunction with writing, directing and producing— I have two decades experience as an award-winning feature, television and short form editor. Recent accomplishments include the Emmy-winning feature documentary “Hate Among Us” and the SXSW standout and Screamfest-winning “My Father Die.”
