About Jason Edgington
I have been working as an engineer for over 25 years, first in the automotive industry and currently in agricultural machinery. My primary focus has been noise and vibration (NVH) engineering. This is a highly technical field requiring specialized skills and training. Although I\'ve been working in this field for more than 20 years, I still find it interesting and challenging. I am always interested in using existing technologies to solve new problems. I have a long-term focus on where I would like to see products be 5 or 10 years into the future, and work to formulate strategies to get there.Currently, I have the privilege to lead a small team of engineers focused on NVH product development, including testing and simulation. My role is to develop the strategic vision for setting NVH targets for agricultural machines, and ensuring my team has the resources they need to deliver on that strategy. I balance this with technical path finding, bringing new NVH methods into the company. I am a technical mentor for engineers across the enterprise, including US, Germany, India, Mexico, and China. Specialties: Noise, vibration, sound, acoustics, sound quality, acoustic holography, finite element analysis, boundary element acoustics, experimental modal analysis, noise testing, eMachine noise, transfer path analysisSoftware: Siemens TestLab, HEAD Artemis, ANSYS
Experience
Nvh Staff Engineer
Jun 2024 — Present · Waterloo, IA, US
Due to a corporate restructuring, I now have an individual contributor role. In this role, I have responsibility for the development and execution of the long-term NVH strategy for agricultural products globally. As a technical leader, I am responsible for growing global NVH technical competency for both testing and simulation, across the enterprise. As a senior technical resource, I have a tactical role in product development and problem solving. Current focus areas are component transfer path analysis, electric machines NVH, and leveraging the best of simulation and test to achieve program goals.
